We were selected to provide a Lutron UK lighting control solution for Westbourne Park Baptist Church. We worked with the electrical contractor and with the Pastor to deliver a cost-effective system that looks beautiful and is simple to use.
During the work, the build team created 33 affordable accommodation units, a children’s library and a 250 seater sanctuary. They also created a hall, kitchen, meeting room, offices, a welcome area and a prayer room.
For our part, we supplied and commissioned a small Lutron control system. This economical system controlled the lighting in the sanctuary area. We actually used a DIN rail based Lutron system, with dimming and switching modules for each of the lighting loads.

The system provided a distinct lighting scene for each of the various uses for the space; for example, a service, wedding, funeral or meeting. This ensured that the lighting was appropriate for use and for the occasion.
In addition to the keypad at the pulpit, the system included a smart-device app for further control options.
In Conclusion
We were very pleased that we were appointed to undertake the lighting project. This project shows that we are well-placed to provide smaller and cost-effective solutions, along with the larger whole-home projects. Similarly, we are equally at home in commercial and residential environments.
We very much enjoyed working with the project team, particularly with the Pastor during the commissioning phase. Our on-site team were very sad to later hear of his death in November 2020. Our team remember how friendly and welcoming he was, and of the genuine interest he took in the delivery of our lighting project. It was certainly a pleasure to work with him and his positive energy was infectious. We send our most sincere condolences to his family and the Westbourne Park Baptist congregation.
