Guy Singleton founded and incorporated Imagine This in 2001. He has shaped the company’s engineering-led approach to high-performance home cinema, audio, video, lighting and control.
His continuing technical leadership connects the practical delivery of complex residential projects with his wider contributions to professional standards, education and cinema-design methodology.

Imagine This was engaged to create a reference screening room for Sir Peter Jackson while he was directing The Hobbit films.
Guy held complete technical design authority and was responsible for the room’s engineering and calibration, including accurate and dependable high-frame-rate playback within a private residential environment.
Independent coverage subsequently recorded Sir Peter’s positive assessment of the cinema’s technical performance, reliability and finish.

Imagine This was approached by MARV to create a personal screening room for film director Matthew Vaughn and Claudia Schiffer at their home.
The cinema incorporated a Trinnov Altitude processor, Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers, a fixed projection screen and a laser projector within a carefully controlled private residential environment.

Imagine This designed an immersive evaluation studio at the London facility of one of the world’s leading game developers.
Created for the critical assessment of game audio and visual content, the room provided a carefully engineered environment in which creative and technical teams could evaluate their work with confidence.

TCD 2.0 launched in 2023 following a substantial ground-up redesign.
Under Guy’s technical direction, the new platform expanded its three-dimensional modelling, room-mode analysis, loudspeaker-layout, acoustic-treatment planning and professional documentation capabilities.

Guy represented CEDIA on the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s LVDC 2.4 Technical Committee.
He contributed more than 300 hours to the Code of Practice for Low and Extra Low Voltage Direct Current Power Distribution in Buildings.
Published in 2015, the Code addresses the design, specification, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of low- and extra-low-voltage direct-current systems within buildings.

A letter dated 25 March 2011 from Imaging Science Foundation founder Joel Silver confirms that Guy had taught the London ISF certification course as an instructor.
The letter recognised Guy’s technical skills and ability to communicate, welcomed him into ISF’s select international instructor group and confirmed that a formal instructor licensing contract would follow.
Guy subsequently taught ISF Levels I, II and III.

The original presentation citation recognised hundreds of hours of voluntary contribution to CEDIA, including his work on industry standards, professional education and the IET Code of Practice.

In January 2018, Widescreen Review published Guy’s four-page technical article, Resolving Immersive Audio Home Cinema Loudspeaker Layouts Using The Cinema Designer — Part 1: Dolby Atmos and DTS.
The article documented how room dimensions, ceiling height, seating geometry, loudspeaker directivity and three-dimensional coordinates could be brought together when designing complex immersive-audio systems.
It also recorded TCD’s collaboration with Trinnov Audio and the platform’s role within Trinnov’s professional certification programme at that time.
